
A gararge gorilla is a one who trains with weights and prefers to lift in their garage. The garage becomes a sanctuary away from the craziness of the world. Garage gorillas don't workout they TRAIN. what's the difference. TRAINING requires specific goals be set and worked toward. you can bodybuild, power and strength train it really doesn't matter to a Gorilla(neither does the temperature in the garage or type of equipment you use).I will use this blog to chronicle my goals training for the 2009 AMERICAN MASTERS WEIGHTLIFTING CONTEST in York Pa in November as well as the USAPL ALL AMERICAN BENCH/DEADLIFT CHAMPIONSHIPS also in November.I will also try to reduce my weight to compete in the 242LB class. I currently train in two Garage gyms,one at my house and the other is located at my Mom's house. All of my training is not done in my garage ,however, Strongman training use of specialized strength training equipment is done at KING JOE'S BARBELL CLUB. This is not a commercial gym but a key club of liked minded individuals devoted to strength training.I am currently 50years old and have competed in powerlifting, olympiclifting, highland games, strongman and allround weightlifting. I have also been involved with strength coaching at the highscool level for over 20 years.
