Make 2015 the Healthiest & Most Productive Year of Your Life!

Joe Defranco

 1. Drink more water. (I recommend at least .6 ounces per pound of bodyweight.)
2. Stop saying "It must be nice" whenever you see a successful person!(You have no idea what that person had to go through in order to become successful...so don't assume success was "given" to them and their life has always been "nice".)
3. Write down your goals.
4. Commit a random act of kindness at least once a week.
5. Take action! (Stop telling everyone what you're "going to" do; instead, show them what you've already done.)
6. Eat more fruits & vegetables.
7. Be thankful for what you have. Don't focus on the things you don'thave. (Thanks for this wisdom, mom :)
8. Spend more time outside.
9. Don't dwell on the past.
10. Simplify your life by becoming an "essentialist". (Learn to distinguish the "trivial many" from the "vital few".)
11. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people. (Avoid negative people like the plague.)
12. Don't compare yourself to others. Be the best "you".
13. Make a "to do" list each night for the following day.
14. Spend time doing something you're passionate about every day.(Ultimately, I recommend turning your passion into your profession.)
15. Take 10 deep, slow breaths each morning when you wake up.
16. Don't waste time worrying about things you can't control.
17. Choose a form of exercise you enjoy doing and do it 3 times a week (minimum).
18. Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. (I personally need to work on this one :)
19. Don't let other people dictate your day. (This is why I stopped checking my phone & emails first thing in the morning. I don't even turn my phone on each day until I've spent some time with my wife & kids, and completed Task #1 on my "to do" list.)
20. It's impossible to please everyone, so don't even try.
21. Don't go on a "diet"! (Approach your eating habits as a way of life that's sustainable.)
22. Take responsibility for everything you do. (Instead of blaming other people, focus on looking for solutions to your problems.)
23. Instead of "sleeping in" on the weekends, get up at your usual time and take one or two 15-20 minutes naps during the day.
24. Don't sit for longer than an hour at a time.
25. Avoid processed food. (If it can live on the grocery store shelf for an entire NFL football season without going bad, leave it on the shelf!)
26. Incorporate a few minutes of stretching or foam rolling into your daily routine.
27. Say "please" and "thank you" often. (You'll be surprised at what an impact these two simple phrases can have.)
28. Keep things in perspective. (The "bad" can always be worse and the "good" can be taken away at any second.)
