As far s the crossfit thing goes. These conditioning
workouts are HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) this
is in fact what crossfit is based on. This type of
training is great and gets great results that is why I
like to do it.
The problem I have with crossfit is crossfitters in
general. This is a very elitest crowd of people who
think for whatever reason that they invented interval
training. I am glad that people are up and off there
asses and getting in shape. I am glad that more people
today are interested in weightlifting, strongman, PL and
HG because of it. I am stoked that it is getting the
attention and support that it is. All these things are
good for strength sports in general.
However I have had 0 run ins with "crossfit" people at
any of the gyms that I frequent across the country that I
haven't wanted to yell at. Being ignorant and elitest is
hard pill for me to swallow and deal with. I have had on
two occasions a 130# kid come up to me to correct my
squat. I don't need your help or attitude. They also
think that they can't learn anything from anyone without
a bunch off bullshit certifications. I love that Mark
Bell and others are making money selling strongman certs and powerlifting certs to these idiots.
I have earned my training certs and paid in scars, blood
and vomit for the last 15 years.
That is my rant about that. In short crossfit is a great
thing. Crossfitters make me want to stab people.
